LOWNDES CO., GA (WALB) -

An early morning crash on I-75 in Lowndes County remained under investigation Monday night by both the Georgia State Patrol and Florida Highway Patrol.

Just before 5:30 Monday morning, Chaquilla Bartley, of Decatur, Georgia, was driving her Mercury Mountaineer Northbound on I-75 when she crashed into a guard rail near the 8 mile marker. Bartley and two other people inside the car, including a five year old child, were taken to the hospital but were not seriously hurt.

"For whatever reason, [she] had crossed into the median in the roadway, struck a guard rail end on the interstate," explained Carl Taylor, post commander for GSP post 31 in Valdosta. "As a result of this impact, the vehicle rotated and overturned several times on the interstate."

GSP believes Bartley was coming from North Florida at the time of the crash.
Florida Highway Patrol is also investigating whether this is the same car involved in a recent hit and run crash there.
