VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Lt. Governor Casey Cagle said the outcome of Tuesday night's Governor's race was just what he expected.

Governor Nathan Deal won the republican nomination in a landslide victory.

Cagle said Governor Deal has done a great job as governor, but he expects the general election campaign to be a tough one

"The governor's race did not surprise me," said Cagle. "I thought there would be a very large victory for him. He's done an impeccable job."

Deal will face democratic candidate Jason Carter in the general election on November 4th.
