Runoff for Dougherty Co. school board seat

A runoff will be held for the Dougherty County school board district 6 seat.

Dean Phinazee, who had 42 percent of the votes, and Princess Milledge, who had 35, will battle it out again.

The primary runoff election will be held July 22nd.

Both candidates were surrounded by friends and family Tuesday night and are preparing to hit the campaign trail hard.

"I look forward to getting out, to meet the community again, to go from door to door to get the votes to win this race," said Milledge.

"I have to hit the ground running. Tomorrow we will start on our runoff campaign," said Phinazee.

Shirlette Davis-Marcus also ran. The seat is being vacated by Darrel Ealum, who is in a runoff for House District 153 against incumbent Carol Fullerton.
