Four arrested in drug raid at Albany motel

Complaints about drug sales lead to a drug raid  Tuesday night at an Albany motel.

Close to a dozen drug agents raided a room at the Dollar Inn on North Slappey just before 9:00 PM.

Drug agents seized about 25 pieces of crack, a small bag of powder cocaine, and some stolen property.

They arrested three people who were in the room. They were: Matthew Cooper, 30, Jason Gary, 34, and Carl Grant, 25.  They were charged with possession and distribution of cocaine.

Anthony Hood, 18, of Thomasville, was arrested a short time later when he walked up to the scene with a container of suspected drugs.  He was charged with possession of spice.

Albany Dougherty Drug Unit Commander Major Bill Berry said "We have one in custody for an outstanding warrant from the jail, and we have two we are detaining until we finish up and they will probably ride out on drug charges."
