(RNN) – Monday is the 40th anniversary of the Rubik's Cube, and if you think solving it is too difficult, you might have better luck with Google's version.
In honor of the toy, Google has turned its logo into an interactive Rubik's cube that you can try to solve by swiping the sections with your mouse.
The Rubik's Cube was invented by Erno Rubik and was initially called the Magic Cube. Though it was invented in 1974, it wasn't widely available until 1977 when the patent for the device was approved. It didn't become known as the Rubik's Cube for another three years.
The Rubik's Cube is recognized as the world's best-selling toy. The current world record for solving the Rubik's Cube is under 6 seconds. There is no official record for Google's version.
Just in case you've wasted too much time trying to figure out Google's version and think it's unsolvable, there's a video on YouTube proving it can be done. However, that video won't help you solve it yourself.
