ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A semi truck is involved in a wreck on Philema Road, which is blocking traffic near Highway 32.   The semi and a pickup truck belonging to Oxford Construction Company collided near the intersection of Philema and Hwy. 32 in Lee Co.

Troopers say Tony Eady, an employee of Oxford Construction Company, ran the stop sign at Philema Road and Highway 32.   His pickup truck hit the rear axle of a tractor trailer rig headed west on Highway 32.      

Eady and his son, Dorian Johnson, who is also an Oxford employee were both rushed to a hospital with injuries.     

The driver of the tractor trailer, Steven Roppe of Alma was not injured.   "I sped up a little bit where he would miss me. I saw where he wasn't going to miss me.  I just hung on and he hit me in the trailer tires," said Roppe.  

Troopers say both Oxford Construction workers were released from the hospital.

Tony Eady will be charged with failure to stop at a stop sign.
