ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Dougherty County Democratic Committee and the Darton State Democrat Independent Republican Team hosted a forum for candidates in statewide races Wednesday night.

Primaries are being held a month and a half earlier than usual and the forum organizer worries a lot of people aren't paying attention to the races.

"I know that the turnout has been low, across the state and across the nation," said event organizer Dr. Constance Burkes. "This is a mid-term election and it's already been predicted it will be a low turnout."

Early voting wraps up Friday. Tuesday is election day.
