Three Dougherty County school teachers were recognized Wednesday for all of their hard work. This is the last group of teachers who will receive the award this school year.
School leaders surprised Amber Davis, Miesha Atkins and Dr. Ethelene Kimber in their classrooms with the infamous game balls Wednesday.
The initiative kicked off in February to honor hardworking and high achieving teachers.
"I am surprised because I feel like I work with a lot of great teachers. But every day when I wake up I make it my goal to give my best. So it's an honor to actually be commended for that," said Game Ball winner Miesha Atkins.
Each month school leaders have been picking an elementary, middle, and high school "game ball" winner. They plan to continue this initiative next school year.
