ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Some Albany Firefighters participated in a BBQ competition to raise money for burn victims.

The Albany Fire Department held their fourth annual Georgia Firefighter Burn Foundation fundraiser for "Give Burns the Boot" in the Sam's Club Parking Lot. Six teams participated in the rib cook-off. WALB's own Jim Wallace was one of four judges from the District Attorney's office and the Georgia Firefighter Burn Foundation.

"We've gone from two to three thousand dollars. We're hoping to really cash in this year. We've got a lot of families in Albany and in Georgia that really need help," said Fire Safety Inspector Jennifer Jackson.

The winner received cooking utensils and gift certificates. The event also had games for kids to enjoy.
