LOWNDES COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

Airmen from Moody Air Force Base and members of the public lined up on the track at Lowndes County High School early Saturday morning for the Moody Tiger Run 12 hour relay.

Runners did have to pre-register, but they could run individually or in teams of up to ten people, with the entry fees going to help support the Air Force Enlisted Village in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

"It's amazing. It's a great feeling just to be able to help," said Airman First Class Synjyn Council, after completing about 20 laps and handing his team's baton off to one of his teammates.

The Air Force Enlisted Village operates primarily off of donations and cares for widows of retired Air Force members who need financial assistance after their spouse passes away.

The relay runs until 7 p.m. Saturday night. The public is encouraged to come and watch.
