Tifton shooting suspect arrested

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Demario Carridine, 26, of Tifton was arrested and charged with aggravated assault in a shooting incident that occurred on March 28, 2014 in the area of Elm Street and Bellview Avenue in Tifton. 

Detective Ferron Yi of the Tifton Police Department investigated the incident and was granted an arrest warrant on April 1, 2014.  Carridine has been at large since then. 

Detective Yi developed information that led to a possible location in Lowndes County, Ga. 

"He is charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault in reference to the shooing on Elm Street. He shot at a white pickup truck with two victims inside. Also he's charged with possession of firearm by convicted felon and criminal damage to property second degree," said Ferron Yi.

On May 7, 2014, Detective Yi, along with members of the Tifton Police Department and Tift County SRT went to Lowndes County. 

Carridine was arrested at the address in Lowndes County with the assistance of the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Secret Service.

The Tifton Police Department is grateful to the other agencies that assisted with this investigation and arrest.
