OAKLAND, TN -
(WMC) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into a child death at a home in Oakland. Oakland Police Department and the Regional Forensic Center are also investigating. The child was 4 years old.

"I was sitting out on my swing enjoying the weather, and I saw an ambulance come by slow, then I saw a police car, and then I saw Oakland fire department," said neighbor Jack Brooks.

Neighbors say a mother and daughter lived in the house with the child. Investigators talked with two women at the house on Thursday. No one, including their next door neighbor, really knew them.

"It hits too close to home. It's frightening for everybody," said neighbor Lynn Palmer.

Neighbors say the family has lived in the house for a few years,.

Chopper 5 was over the home, where several law enforcement vehicles were parked on the street.

Details about the child's death and the investigation are limited at this time.
