ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A website has been established to help fund the funeral expenses for a man who was found murdered outside his home Monday night.

Albany Police say 23 year old Jeffrey Nunley was shot to death about 9:15 Monday night outside his home on West Whitney Avenue.

His friends and neighbors have been shocked by his death, and have set up a GoFundMe site to crowd-fund funeral expenses.

Members of the community said Nunley was well-known and liked. Friends said Nunley and his family lived in the West Whitney home for years. He was known for walking his dog in this neighborhood, and playing basketball at the school off Highland Avenue.

The District Attorney said that cooperation from neighborhood residents will help them find the killer.

Neighbors and friends told WALB that Nunley had a small daughter. She and her mother are living in Florida, and Nunley had been saving money to join them.
