VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A Valdosta car dealer ship is giving back to members of the military and first responders in the Valdosta area.

Through May 12th, active duty and retired military personnel, police officers, fire fighters and EMS workers can stop by Pipkin's Motors and pick up a free $50 dollar restaurant gift card.

It's part of an initiative by Volkswagen and Subaru, which the dealership sells, to support local heroes across the country.

"Any of these individuals can come in and get a free $50 gift card to some local restaurants and over 18,000 restaurants nationwide," said David Pipkin, owner of Pipkin's Motors.

The dealership is also offering special discounts to military personnel and first responders during this event. On Saturday, May 10th, beginning at noon the dealership will also serve food to military personnel and first responders who stop by.
