Georgia Music Nominees need your vote

Some Albany musicians need your help to win a prestigious award.

Four area bands and two solo artists are up for Georgia Music Awards. They gathered at the Flint RiverQuarium Theatre this afternoon to promote their nominations. One of the members of Unbreakable Bloodline, up for Best Hip Hop Band, says they need you to help bring attention to southwest Georgia's music scene.

"Six bands holding it down for our specific genre, so that speaks a lot. If you've got these younger artists coming up thinking there's no way we can get our music out from Albany, lets prove them wrong. Here we are representing for the Georgia Music Awards coming out of the Good Life City," said Unbreakable Bloodline member Vernon Cruz.

You can vote for your favorites online through June 2nd. The Georgia Music Awards is June 14th at the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta. The nominees in Albany are:

Best Hip Hop Band- Unbreakable Bloodline

Best Country Band- Highway 55

Best Country Male- Nick Alligood

Best Hip Hop Male-Tony B

Best Rock Band- Intoxicated Logic

Best Metal Band- Dog Head
