AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

Police have arrested 27-year-old Kelvin O. Hill on Tuesday, May 6, the day after a woman was found suffering from a gunshot wound near S. College St.

Police say they received a call about shots being fired, and responded at around 5:45 p.m. Monday, May 5, to a residence in the 100 block of Lee Road 18. Officers found a 26-year-old female from Auburn suffering from a single gunshot wound to her leg.

The woman was in a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria stopped in the vicinity of the 3200 block of S. College St. She was treated at the scene, transported to the EAMC Emergency Room for treatment, and has since been released.

Police say their investigation revealed that several shots were fired striking the victim, the car she was in, and another residence. No one in the residence was injured.

Hill developed as a suspect in the investigation. Detectives obtained felony arrest warrants on Hill, charging him with Assault Second Degree and Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle/Residence.

Hill was taken into custody at the Police division Building. He was transported to the Lee County Detention Facility where his bond was set at $10,000.

The Auburn Police Division asks anyone with information on the case to contact them at 334-501-3140 or the Tip Line at 334-246-1391.
