ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Lots of runners were colored with powder as they ran through the downtown area today.

It's all part of the annual "Color the Grove" 5k. The run is a fundraiser for the Flint Riverquarium and the Darton State College Athletic Program. In its second year, more than 400 runners participated. Volunteers set up at six stations covering participants with colored powder as they ran.

"We want the people to come downtown and have a great time. To enjoy what's down here, to participate in the event and at the same time they're supporting the Darton Athletic Program and the FlintRiverquarium," said Darton State College Events Coordinator Martha Snow.

Awards were also given to the fastest runners. You can help donate to the Flint Riverquarium and Darton State College by contacting Glenn Eames at 229-317-6558 or Vicki Churchman at 229-639-2650.
