ALBANY, GA - (WALB) -

This extremely rainy month has been tough on Chehaw.

The Park canceled Friday's Sip and Safari fundraiser.

There is a lot of standing water in the African Veldt area of the zoo.

The animals are not affected by the rain, but the grounds are just too wet for Chehaw to host that party.

Despite all the rain,Chehaw officials say their overall attendance for April was close to normal.

Executive Director Doug Porter said "I don't think it's down very much. Our finances are solid and we're already started planning for some more events taking advantage of our Creekside Building. Indoor events."

The B-M-X track is covered with plastic to keep it as dry as possible for races this weekend.
