Does soggy ground make produce cost more?

People are wondering if the recent severe weather would push produce prices up.

While the rain has delayed farmers from planting produce, some say it could have an effect on produce prices, if farmers don't get the produce into stores in time.

Tommy McDowell at Tommy MAC's Produce and Country store says there are different things could drive up produce prices.

"It's anybody guess. Produces prices have always gone up and down as well as corn, cotton, peanuts, according to mother nature and supply and demand."

McDowell says the rain shouldn't affect produce coming into his store. He says if anything comes up short, it will only be for a limited time.
