NEWNAN, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a woman who was planning to get married this weekend was killed in a car crash that also injured her fiance.

The Dalton Daily Citizen reports 25-year-old Brittany Huber was killed Monday when the car she and 23-year-old John Redman were in hit a concrete support on I-85 near Newnan, Ga. State troopers say Redman lost control of the vehicle.

Redman is an assistant basketball coach at Dalton State University in northwest Georgia. Athletic director Derek Waugh says he and Huber were headed to Mobile, Ala. for their wedding this weekend.

Waugh says Redman was hospitalized in Atlanta and suffered broken ribs and other bone fractures.

Huber was a paraprofessional at City Park Elementary school in Dalton. Principal Rick Little says she was a vibrant, caring person.
