ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Just hours after the NBA imposed a lifetime ban on Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling for making racist comments people gathered in Albany to talk about race relations.

The Southwest Georgia Project for Community Education organized the forum at MCLB. The theme was "Moving Albany Forward/ Community Rebranding Initiative."  The organization holds a community forum once a month.

"We need to know what's going on in our community. We need to be concern about the community, so that we can build and make a better place together," said Director Shirley Sherrod.

The racial healing initiative is designed to build leaders who can guide communities in healing dialogue and social and economic empowerment activities.
