Pro golfers visit Pinevale Elementary to teach kids about golf

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Some kids in Valdosta know a lot more about golf tonight after meeting some pros.

Golfers in town for the South Georgia Classic stopped by Pinevale Elementary School as part of the First Tee National School Program. It's designed to teach kids about golf and promote healthy living habits.

"Just to give back to the community," responded Chase Wright, Pro Golfer, when asked why he volunteered to come out to the school. "It's good to support young kids and watch them try to pick up on the game of golf a little bit and tech 'em a little bit about what we do."

The golfers will also visit schools in Brooks, Colquitt, and Lowndes Counties.
