LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

Early voting for Georgia's May 20th primaries opened today.

The elections supervisor in Lee County was pleased with the turnout on day one with more than 30 people casting ballots. She expects crowds to pick up even more as it gets closer to the primaries.

"Early voting started this morning and we were really excited and very prepared. So far we've had a great turnout. The first day usually is a little bit slower and then it builds up towards the last week of early voting, but we are off to a great start here in Lee County," said Election Supervisor Veronica Johnson.

Early voting will continue Monday through Friday through May 16th and on Saturday May 10th.
