The Phoebe Cancer Center earns a high honor for its treatment of lung cancer patients. of excellence by the Lung Cancer Alliance.

Just three months after launching its Lung Watch program

It was named a screening center of excellence by the Lung Cancer Alliance. Phoebe is the only hospital South of Macon to earn the designation.

Lung cancer is common in South Georgia and early screening is the key to extending a patient's life.

Lung Navigator Kathy D'Amico says"If you meet the criteria you need to get your primary physician to order the screening. The screenings are still free."

Phoebe also offers smoking cessation, counseling, and conferences with 12 specialists to look over C-T scans all for free.

Patients have to meet the criteria and a primary care physician for an appointment. Residents of Daugherty, Lee Terrell, Mitchell and Worth Counties can be involved in the program.
