Albany stolen car torched

Albany firefighters are looking into the overnight torching of a stolen car.

This is what's left of Gale Williams' Ford Van.

Williams told Albany Police she last saw the van about midnight.

Monday morning around 10:30, Albany Parks workers found it burned on the Flint Riverwalk near 3rd Avenue. Investigators say it was arson.

Albany Fire Chief James Carswell said "Oh definitely. We are still in the middle of an investigation, but everything points to it. It was a stolen, and they set it on fire to destroy any evidence."

The stolen car and arson case remain under investigation.
