Flood watch issued for some south Georgia counties

Posted: Updated:

As rain began to move into south Georgia Sunday afternoon, the National Weather Service issued an areal flood watch for several counties in the northern part of the WALB viewing area.

It is in effect until 2 a.m. for Crisp, Dooly, Stewart, Sumter, Webster and Wilcox counties.

An areal flood watch means flooding of streets, low-lying areas, storm drains and streams in the area is possible.

WALB meteorologist Ryan Beesley will have the latest information on the forecast on WALB News 10 at 6:00.
