Relay for life continues in Albany

The Albany area Relay for Life started at six o'clock tonight at the Exchange Club Fairgrounds with an opening ceremony and a survivors lap.

The annual event raises money for the American Cancer Society and their effort to beat a disease that has affected just about every family.

"We share the same reason that we are here, there is sometimes people cannot go through the same things that we go through," said cancer survivor Mary Brown. "So we are here to help."

Before the relay began, teams had already raised more than 70-thousand dollars.
