City leaders work to clean up our landscape

City leaders and officials are joining together to help battle litter on the streets of Dougherty County. It's part of Earth Week for Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful.

Mayor Dorothy Hubbard and County Commission Chairman Jeff Sinyard, spoke to volunteers on how vital is it to keep the city and surrounding areas free of trash.

Over 2,500 people have joined in on the community clean up.

"Developers coming in looking around and just saying 'I don't like what I see' and head back to the airport. So, we would really like to change our image, we've been coming a long way and like to get there," said Mike Tilson of Albany Code Enforcement.

Organizers hope by working together, it will show others that they can make a difference.
