ASU students clean-up campus

Some Albany State students want to keep their campus looking nice.

As a part of the first Criminal Justice Week, students held a campus cleanup. Called the Broken Windows Service Project Day, students picked up trash around campus. This is an effort to decrease code violations and to show others that there are people looking at their campus.

"Criminal justice students wanted to demonstrate that we are watching, that we do care about our campus community," said Marlene Ramsey, Program Director for Undergraduate Criminal Justice/Criminal Justice Week Chair.

Thirty-five students participated in the project.

Earlier, the students participated in career day. This event involved a variety of criminal justice professionals speaking to students about their careers. Speakers discussed their formal and informal job descriptions, pathways to promotion, salaries, and realities of the impact of the career path on personal life. The session concluded with a question and answer session.
