MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

One of the biggest agricultural events in the country takes place right here in Moultrie.

The Sunbelt Ag Expo began in 1978, and 37 years later the event is bigger than ever.

An estimated 90,000 people attended the three day event last year.  Over 1,100 plus exhibitors take over Spence Field, showing off the latest technology in Ag research and products.

Organizers say the event has a $20 million economic impact for the 20 county region surrounding Moultrie.

"Our community does a great job of welcoming the world that comes to the expo. It's a minor inconvenience with the traffic for the three days but the impact on our local businesses is well worth it," said Sunbelt's Executive Director Chip Blaylock.

This year Georgia is the spotlight state.  The event is October 14th, 15th and 16th.
