ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany Police report they have arrested 20 year old Aveontae Grier of Albany in relation with the stabbing death of an Albany teen Tuesday night.  Grier has been charged with two counts of robbery by force.

D. A. Greg Edwards says he is investigating the possibility of self-defense in the case.

Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler has identified 19-year-old Robert Soilberry as the man killed Tuesday night,  stabbed in the 1900 block of Barnesdale Way, according to Coroner Michael Fowler.

Prosecutors say witnesses tell them that two men were sitting in a car in a driveway in the 1900 block of Barnesdale Way, when two men approached them and tried to rob them.  Investigators say one of the men in the car pulled a knife and stabbed 19 year old Robert Soilberry through the open car window,  directly in the heart.

Soilberry staggered to 1903 Barnesdale Way seeking help; his blood evident in many areas of the road and home.  Paramedics took Soilberry to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead there.

District Attorney Greg Edwards said "It's a situation that is not clear cut.  It's a situation that we need to make some determination based on the forensics.  And those witnesses that were there."

Grier was with Soilberry, and has been charged with two counts of robbery by force.  Investigators say Grier and Soilberry had no weapons.  No one has been charged with Soilberry's death.  The D.A. says they are still investigating the three witnesses to the stabbing, and waiting for forensic evidence from the stabbing to be completed.

"We will be looking at the forensic evidence to make a final determination whether it was justifiable or not," Edwards said

Neighbors say they are shocked by the stabbing on their usually quiet street.

"I sure do.  We're not used to having stabbings for sure.  Everybody's been living here for a long time. Most of us," said neighbor Christine Wrenn.

An autopsy will be performed on Soilberry's body Friday at the GBI Crime Lab, as Investigators continue to look into this death to determine if it was justifiable homicide or a case of self defense.
