Encouraging news that things are improving within the Dougherty County School System.
The system posted a four point four gain in the College and Career Readiness Index that measures school and student performance.
We believe a lot of the credit goes to superintendent Dr. David Mosely.
Mosely credits the higher scores to hiring the best and most caring teachers.
While everyone is thrilled with this year's scores, Dougherty County's scores are still below the state average.
But under the leadership of a new superintendent, it shouldn't be too long before Dougherty County Schools are scoring above the state average.
