City calls off Dawson Rd. lane closures

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The City of Albany is not following through with lane closures for Dawson Road.

They had announced that effective April 24, 2014, the 1900 Block of Dawson Road will be narrowed to one lane eastbound and one lane westbound from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

On April 25, 2014 only the east bound lanes will be restricted from 9:00 A.M. until late afternoon. This is to provide a safe work zone for work in the 1900 Block of Dawson Road.

Motorists are directed to use alternative routes and avoid the 1900 Block ofDawson Road fromE. Edgewater Drive to Forest Glen Drive, near Lake Loretta.

Motorists are advised to reduce their speed, use caution while traveling in this area and expect delays.
