COLQUITT CO., GA (WALB) -

A scam alert about con artists who convince you you've won a free vacation.

A Colquitt County woman got a call from someone telling her she won a trip to the Bahamas and two free tickets to Disney World. The caller claimed to need bank card information to process the trip.  It took the scammers three tries, but they eventually stole $370.

"The first time I believe it was like $900 they attempted. The second time was like $700, but since there was insufficient funds in the account it wouldn't go through. So they kept lowering it until they were able to retrieve some money," said Lt . Randy Stephens.

The Sheriff's office is investigating the case. Investigators remind you to never give out personal information over the phone and to call law enforcement immediately if you are a victim of a scam.
