Escaped inmates identified

BLAKELY, GA (WALB) -

Two escaped inmates who got away from the Early County Jail have been caught.

Sheriff William Price confirmed the two escapees that got away from the jail in Blakely were captured within two hours of the incident.

Sheriff's officials say Terrance Davis and Collin Wright were in the recreation yard when they manipulated a small hole in the fence and crawled through just after 5:30 p.m. Officers began the search for them in the area of South Main Street and Highway 39 South.

A K-9 unit from Randolph County was called and located the escapees about two hours after their escape, about a half-mile from the jail near South Main Street in Blakely.

The two ran into the woods, but were caught and taken back to jail. Davis was being held in the jail on aggravated assault charges stemming from an attempted home invasion. Wright was awaiting trial on burglary charges.

Both men are now facing escape charges.
