ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Easter Bunny made an appearance at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital today.

The Dougherty County Police Department partnered with the Easter Bunny Foundation to deliver stuffed Easter Bunnies to children who couldn't go home for the holiday. The Easter Bunny gave out hugs and took pictures with the kids. Dougherty County Police say they want to make sure kids who are hospitalized are not forgotten on Easter Sunday.

"We try to just meet the kids and let them know that someone is thinking about them on Easter Sunday. We bring the Easter Bunny and give them these toys and it's all about making these kids happy on Easter Sunday," said Lt. Chad Kirkpatrick.

This is the ninth year the Dougherty County Police Department has partnered with the Easter Bunny Foundation for the event.
