The Albany-Dougherty County NAACP is giving back to the community through food.

They sold $6 rib plates to the public at their headquarters on North Magnolia Street. The NAACP's Vice President and Dougherty County Commission District 4 Candidate, Tracy Taylor, prepared the ribs on the grill. The dinner is also to get the public interested in joining the NAACP and helping the community.

"It's the oldest Civil Rights organization there is but it just helps enhances the community," said Derrick Linkhorn.

"We are working on behalf of the citizens in Albany and we do care about issues that affect the citizens in Albany," said Tracy Taylor.

All proceeds from the dinner support the NAACP. The cost is $30 a year to be a member. You can join by contacting President Derrick Linkhorn at 229-296-0515.
