Albany Little Public Library opens

The smallest library in Albany opened Friday.

The little library, which is a small mailbox-sized variation of books is now open to the public on the 600 block of 5th avenue. It's an effort to promote reading among the children in the neighborhood and improve the educational standards in the community.

"Right now an estimated 60 percent of homes do not have age appropriate reading material in them," said Melissa Strother. "

The little public library runs on the honor system, if you borrow one, leave one or another later
