VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Seniors at Valwood High School in Hahira are now registered to vote, thanks to a new online voter registration program.

Georgia Secretary of State, Brian Kemp, was at the high school Friday morning to walk the students through the program. The program has been up and running for about a week and is available to all Georgians.

"You can actually register when you're seventeen and a half. So, we're tryin' to raise awareness about that," Kemp explained. "We certainly have a big primary comin' up across the state. You know, we've got an open U-S Senate seat, a lot of open congressional races, certainly a lot of local races goin' on as well."

The deadline to register for the May 20th primary is Monday, April 21st.
