ALBANY, GA - (WALB) -

Darton is hoping to reach out some of its 40,000 alums.

The school is pushing forward a new initiative to go out in the community and connect with all alums in the workplace. Businesses with two or more Darton alums qualify for the program. Once signed up, the Alumni Association will host a small event at the to talk about the different ways they can be involved with their alma mater.

"The alumni association is in the process of re-energizing and reconnecting with our alums so any way that we can get in front of our alums and get in touch with them to reconnect with them and build relationships is extremely important," said Alumni Relations and Advancement Coordinator Lisa Malinowski.

Darton has been running its alumni mentoring program with its students since late last year.
