DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) -

A suspected bank robber remains in the Coffee County Jail, after he was officially charged with bank robbery, and denied bond in court.

Nevada Powell was also held on a probation violation warrant as the FBI and Douglas Police continue to investigate.

We know investigators confiscated a shotgun when they arrested Powell after he got a flat tire speeding away from the Wells Fargo Bank Wednesday.

Police think he called in a bomb threat to Coffee County schools before the robbery as a diversion, but they're still working to trace the 911 call made from a cell phone.

Powell got out of prison two years ago after serving two and a half years for DUI and running from police.

That followed a cocaine distribution conviction.
