Albany Firefighters credit their new quieter jaws of life with making the rescue of a 5-year old girl much easier on the child.
About 4 o-clock Tuesday firefighters were called to West Broad Avenue because Nykevia Ivory's foot was lodged between her bike pedal and its frame.
Firefighters used their jaws of life to push the pedal out and free her foot.
Ivory was transported to the hospital, and she is okay.
Firefighters say the battery-powered equipment is much quieter than the old hydraulic machine.
They were able to free the girl quickly, without upsetting her.
