Viewpoint: Illegal Dumping

What a disgrace that someone illegally dumped more than 200 tires on some property in South Albany.

The tires were dumped near the Norfolk Southern Railroad property.

Thanks to the law-breaking dumpers, the railroad had to pay to have the property cleaned up, and then had to pay the landfill fee for each tire to be properly disposed of.

Such dumping is a blight on Albany, a city trying to attract business and improve its reputation.

We appreciate the diligence of code enforcers and Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful and we ask all of you to report it if you see someone illegally dumping.
