Churches celebrate Holy week in Albany

Worshippers in Albany gather to celebrate Holy week.

Downtown churches are getting together each day leading up to Easter Sunday. A pastor from one of the participating churches preaches a sermon.

The half hour services also include music and scriptures about the life Jesus.

"Holy week is a remembrance of the passion of Christ. The week is of his suffering and his death on the cross. More happened than Palm Sunday and Easter. The events in between were very significant to people of faith," said Thomas Sparks, Interim Pastor of First Presbyterian Church.

Six churches are taking part in the downtown Holy Week services.
