Colony City Opry hosts free Saturday dances

If you are looking for some weekend family fun, you may want to try the Colony City Opry. Every Saturday in Fitzgerald they host a free dance. People come from all over South Georgia to attend.

Donations and proceeds from concessions are donated to the Christian Kitchen and other organization in Ben Hill County.

Organizers say it's a "G" rated atmosphere, no smoking or alcohol.

"We have a great time, we have a live band, its volunteered and its just a good social family oriented place and we want everyone to come," says Wayne Smith, with the Colony City Opry

Weekdays they hold a garage sale as well. The proceeds also help their annual Christmas program where they give presents and food baskets to about 200 kids every year.

The dance starts at six on Saturdays.
