ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Hundreds of callers raised money for the Albany Museum of Art.

The museum hosted their 28th Lets Make A Bid fundraiser. WALB's own Ben Roberts, Jim Wallace and Tara Herrschaft volunteered at the event along with students and other members in the community. Callers could bid on a variety of items such as jewelry, clothing, art work and puppies.

"One thing that some people may not know about the museum is that we're free to the public every day of the year that we are open. We think that's very important. Our board and staff are very committed to that and one way we keep the museum open for free is by holding Lets Make a Bid," said Karen Kemp.

The Albany Museum of Art also recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.
