ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The weather was perfect Friday night for some outdoor family entertainment in downtown Albany.

The Downtown Manager's Office and the Recreation and Parks Department kicked off its Movies on the Flint series.

Families watched "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" on a big screen at Riverfront Park. Organizers hope for an even bigger crowd next month. Assistant to the Downtown Manager Monique Broughton said, "We just want people to know that we enjoy putting on these events, but in order to keep them going, we have to have you know the community come out, so we really just hope that families come out, really enjoy it, take time to just enjoy each other and have some free entertainment."

On May 9th you can see "Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2."

The June movie hasn't been chosen. The July movie will be a viewers' choice, picked by the votes of those who enjoy the other movies.
