CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

A 21 year old woman from Marietta was arrested for transporting nearly 10 pounds of marijuana, after she was stopped for speeding Thursday just north of Cordele on I-75.

The Crisp Co. Sheriff's Office says that an officer with the Criminal Apprehension Team stopped a Krystal Wright for driving 87 MPH in a 70 MPH zone near mile marker 104 on Interstate 75.

The deputy smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and saw residue on the passenger seat.

A search of the car revealed approximately10 pounds of marijuana. Twenty one year old, Krystal Wright of Marietta Georgia was arrested and charged with Speeding and Possession of Marijuana with intent.

She was transported to the Crisp County Detention Center. Her bond was set at $6,300, but as of Friday morning, she had not posted it, and was still in jail.
