Movies on the Flint starts tonight

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The City of Albany Downtown Manager's Office, along with the Recreation & Parks Department is kicking off the Movie on the Flint Series.

The event will kick off on Friday, April 11th at 7:00 p.m. in the Riverfront Park with the popular "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" as the movie for the night.

The city is encouraging families in the community and surrounding communities to come enjoy a free night of entertainment. Families can bring their blankets, chairs and snacks to enjoy the movie.

Everyone is asked to arrive at the park at 7:00 p.m., and the movie will begin at dusk.

This year the last movie shown will be determined by the viewers. Citizens can write down the movie they would like to see as the finale movie for this year's series.

A container will be at each movie for them to place their selection. Only movies that are family friendly will be considered.

For more information contact Monique Broughton at (229)483-7665.

The series begins with April 11th "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" tonight. On May 9th, it's "Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Roderick Rules."
