CRISP COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

We were on the scene when a police chase ended in Cordele Thursdayafternoon.

Gene Robbins was arrested when the chase ended at the Crisp CountySheriff's Office.

Investigators say itstarted with a domestic violence incident involving a woman in his car inAshburn.

The couple drove toCordele where the woman got out and asked for help at a business.

Cordele Police say whenan officer showed up to question Robbins, he drove off striking the officerwith his side mirror.

"Police officerswere able to catch up with the van and a chase ensued. The chase continued onout into the county. From there another car was struck at a stop sign. Thechase continued on where he had finally stopped here in the Sheriff Officeparking lot," said Ben Bray, Crisp County Sheriff's Office.

Robbins will be charged with aggravated assault of a policeofficer, hit and run and driving without insurance. More charges are likely.
